How to get a tropical feel to my room

We all feel so relaxed on holiday in the tropics that what better way to design your home decoration than around that tropical feel we all love. A tropical feel can be achieved using clever indoor planting such as indoor palms, cactus and bright coloured flowers. These can be real or artificial or a mixture of both.  Using natural colours on the wall and furnishings is also a great idea. The clever use of lighting will give the feel of bright sunshine and the clever placement of mirrors can help reflect lights and reflection of plants.  Wallpaper with bright tropical flowers or palm trees can also provide a striking feature wall. The use of tropical green should be a prominent colour to give that lush feel of nature. A tropical palm leaf rug in an otherwise bland cream or beige lounge will transform the space and give it a lovely fresh relaxing feel.
